Thank you for choosing this McAfee product. This document contains important information about the current release. We strongly recommend that you read the entire document.

ImportantWe do not support the automatic upgrade of a pre-release software version. To upgrade to a production release of the software, you must first uninstall the existing version.

New features

Here is a list of features included with this release of the product.

What's new in this release

Support for OS X Mountain Lion version 10.8 operating system (both client and server).
NoteWhen this release is installed on a machine running OS X Server, only Anti-malware and Anti-spyware features are enabled. Application Protection and Desktop Firewall features are not installed.
The product is digitally signed using Apple's certificate to pass check for Gatekeeper default option Mac App Store and identified developer. For details on Gatekeeper, go to
Usability improvements in the Desktop Firewall feature with an option to create partially stateful firewall. For details on the Desktop Firewall changes and sample rules, refer to the KnowledgeBase article KB75663.
ImportantAfter upgrading your software to this release, Desktop Firewall rules configured on the earlier versions of the software are deleted.

History screen displaying all anti-malware and application protection events.
Support for quarantining malware.
Enhanced McAfee Alert and McAfee Notification mechanisms.
Manageability through McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator 4.5 or 4.6.
Support for specifying an extended set of primary and secondary actions for on-access and on-demand scans.
Support for specifying regular expression based exclusions for on-access scan and on-demand scan separately.
MER tool to collect diagnostic data of the software.

Standalone installation

1 Double-click MSM120-RTW-<Build Number>.dmg to mount the package.
2Double-click MSM120-RTW-<Build Number>.pkg and follow the on-screen instructions to install this release.
